peter sze leong ho [acrylics, painting knife, & brush, 48” x 24” canvas, personal collection] Based off an old photograph of my dad during his Taekwondo demonstration days. It’s an image that symbolizes and reminds me of the many things my dad meant to me.
richard anderson omura, ji hong tai chi college [acrylics, painting knife, & brush on 36” x 24” canvas] Richard was one of my tai chi chen instructors while I was at the Ji Hong Tai Chi College and was gracious enough to go through a couple photo shoots with me. Despite his ongoing assertions that he never liked the way he looks in his pictures, he was able to find some photos he could live with, and I was able to find one that I could paint from.
[pencil graphite on A4 illustration paper] An old drawing of mine...my first attempt at a portrait in graphite since my hiatus from long ago.

martial arts project
My father was a 5th dan taekwondo black belt. There are many uncles and cousins who practiced as well, and my life was filled with martial art films, books, and wuxia cinema. I never learned to break boards with my feet, but dabbled in Tai Chi Chen several years off and on. I continue to be intrigued by the art in all its forms.
